2. Composition and Ingredients:
Composition: Pure substance ZnSO4
Chemical Nature: Clear to white crystalline powder used as fungicide, catalyst,
corrosion inhibitor.
3. Hazards:
Contact with eyes may cause irritation.
Swallowing may cause diarrhoea and ulceration of gastrointestinal tract.
4. First Aid:
Specific Immediate Treatment
Inhalation: Remove patient from exposure. Obtain
medical attention.
Skin Contact: Wash skin with water. Remove contaminated clothing.
Obtain medical attention.
Eye Contact: Immediately irrigate with clean water, holding the eyelids apart,
for at least 20 minutes.
Obtain medical attention.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Wash out mouth with water and give 200-300 ml
(half a pint) of water to drink. Obtain medical
attention.

Symptomatic treatment and supportive therapy as indicated.

Inhalation: Not known.
Skin Contact: 1% aqueous solution applied for 5 days caused moderate irritation
to rabbits, mice and guinea pigs.
Eye Contact: 420 ug caused moderate irritation in rabbit’s eye.
Ingestion: 50mg/Zinc sulphate/3 times a day for 6 weeks.
26/47 subjects experienced gastrointestinal
disturbance.
Chronic effects: Not known.
